About Pricewise

Built from a real pricing problem.

A small set of free calculators I built for myself — to quote faster, understand positioning, and check whether a price actually made sense versus the competition.

The story

A tool I needed, that turned into a site.

Pricewise didn't start as a product. It started as a private spreadsheet I kept re-opening every time a client asked for a quote, every time I had to position a new offer, and every time I wanted to know whether a competitor's price was actually sustainable — or just optimistic.

The problem with pricing is that the math is simple but the questions aren't: what's a fair margin here? what's the floor? what does my time really cost?I wanted a place where I could punch in the numbers I already knew and walk away with a price I could defend.

The tool helped me. So I cleaned it up, gave it a homepage, and put it on the internet. We're now on version 3 — started in July 2025, redesigned twice since, and slowly growing the calculator library.

"Pricing shouldn't feel like a guess."

What it's for

Three jobs it does well.

Quote faster

Open the right calculator, type the few numbers you know, and walk out with a number you can send.

Check positioning

See how a price moves with margin, fees and time — so you understand where you sit, not just what you charge.

Compare to competitors

Reverse-engineer a competitor's price into the assumptions behind it. Decide whether to match, undercut or hold.

How it stays free

Free forever — kept alive by quiet, relevant ads.

The goal is simple: keep every calculator free, no paywalls, no required signup to do the math. To make that sustainable, the site shows subtle, relevant ad placements — never blocking the calculator, never popping over the result.

If you ever notice an ad getting in the way, that's a bug. Tell me and I'll fix it.

Timeline

Three versions in. Still iterating.

  1. Jul 2025

    v1 — first public version

A handful of calculators wrapped around the spreadsheet I'd been using privately.

  2. Late 2025

    v2 — expanded library

Etsy, services, digital products, consulting. Better explanations, better defaults.

  3. 2026Now

    v3 — redesign + dashboard

New look, save your work to a personal dashboard, export to PDF for clients.

I hope it helps you make better pricing decisions.
