Etsy Fee Calculator: Alternatives Compared

A few good calculators do this math. A few paid suites bundle it with much more. Here's an honest map so you spend on tools you actually need.

Bottom lineIf you only need fee math, use a free calculator (ours, or Etsy's official seller calculator). Pay for eRank or Alura for keyword and listing optimization — not for fees.

What to actually look for in an Etsy fee calculator

  • Offsite ads handling: Does it apply 12–15% always, or only when triggered? The latter is correct for most sellers.
  • Shipping in the base: Etsy charges 6.5% on item + shipping. Calculators that exclude shipping understate fees.
  • Currency conversion: 2.5% if your bank currency differs from your listing currency. Easy to miss.
  • VAT on fees (UK/EU): Etsy charges VAT on its fees if you're not VAT-registered. Worth a checkbox.

When eRank or Alura is worth it

If you have 20+ active listings and rely on Etsy search for traffic, the keyword research and competitor data are worth $10–30/month. If you have 1–5 listings, the math doesn't work yet — get to volume first.

When Craftybase is worth it

If you're tracking real materials inventory and need true COGS for taxes, Craftybase is the most thorough option for makers. Overkill for digital sellers and dropshippers.
